Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four kids born August 9, 1976, in Beaumont Puy de Domme. Audrey Tautou's parents, who are a dental doctor and a school teacher helped and encouraged her initial passion for drama as well as theatre. She initially hoped of becoming a specialist in monkeys was replaced by a desire to pursue a degree in theater and drama. Her rise to fame as a young actress was rapid and accompanied by early success. It was only in 1999 the year she first began performing professionally. Following her studies Tautou took part in the French television show for talent scouting called Jeunes Premiers. Tautou went to church and Institut Catholique de Paris during her childhood, but she now dissociates herself from these upbringings. Her acting and modelling careers have been interspersed. She became the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc Chanel, and is often referred to as The Chanel Muse. Apart from her acting work she also has an interest in photography. Audrey Tautou became a star and was recognized internationally for her first role in Amelie Poulain from Le Fabuleux Destination d'Amelie. It's the largest French language film to ever be released to be released in the US. In the following year, she starred in British dramas like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Junet's Un long Sunday de Faancailles. In the following year, she moved to Hollywood in the United States, where Ron Howard directed the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code.
