The kids were at the crib, while I was strapped with one of them to my back. Ha! The house was starting to look nice, but there was a lot left. It would take lots of time and money and shopping my favorite interiors to decorate this place. To stay within budget, I began going with my boys to estate sales looking for of diamonds. Our weekly routine which consisted of spending the week from Thursday through Saturday walking around estate and garage sales, shopping for new and used objects. I then spent the remainder of the week sanding and painting the driveway. Looked a little something like it... This is the time my love of restoration of furniture started. Even though our home was fully furnished, I could not quit. Markets in town had room to let me sell my pieces. I was able to outgrow the area because I had plenty of pieces that I could use. My house was transformed into a space that I hosted open houses, where up 1000 people would be able to view items from my first floor and purchase them. This is where my business Growing Days was born. Growing Days was more than an extremely successful company, it was also my sweet family. It was a balance between starting a new business and becoming a mother. Growing Days seemed like the best combination. Nora, my 4th kid was born in the year 2013. Though I was content about the direction my company went, I was feeling like I had to take some time off. I decided to slow down to spend time at home, with my children. It was the right time. It wasn't until a couple of months that the phones started to ring. Calls came in asking me to assist them in decorating their homes and interiors. A majority of these were the ones who had strolled through my house during open house for furniture! After a while, I took on clients at my pace. Soon I had numerous accounts as well as a home remodeling business. I'm sure you would have laughed at me had you told me this was going to be the subject of the DIY Network tv series. In fact, I do amused when I think of the idea.
