April Lockhart

April Lockhart is a born on July 4th April, 1995. When she was in the 7th grade she began to take guitar lessons and piano lessons. This ignited her passion for music writing. At the age of seven April started taking guitar and piano lessons. This ignited her interest to write songs. She spent lots of time when she was 14 writing songs and practicing the piano. The songwriting began with her dad at home in NY and LA shortly after. April also began incorporating various other topics relevant to the Take my Hand song for some friends, such as peer-pressure problems and suicides among teenagers. Lockhart is a popular figure and works as an online lifestyle blogger for the well-known Ilia clean beauty brand. The disability she has is part of her identity, but it's not all of the of the picture. So, Lockhart's Instagram profile doesn't shy away from her disability, but it's not focused on her disability either. What is the message? The message? That we have many different aspects, that our physical and identity bodies aren't what they seem. Lockhart is interviewed via video in Nashville. "I don't wish for it to dictate my personal life. I do not want to be merely identified as a specialist in disability. However, it doesn't affect my day-to-day living. I do the things I normally would and have adjusted to my disability. Because it's an integral part of me and something worthy of discussion. Lockhart has been a great inspiration to her fellow women with regards to acceptance of oneself. Yet, she confesses that she has had periods when she felt uncomfortable with her appearance and wearing clothing that showed her arms. Today, she wears anything she'd like. She also posts pictures on social networks. What makes self-love so appealing to her is that it's not an end place to go. This is, however, typical for people who has insecurities. I think it's vital to surround yourself people who are able to identify and feel your heart.
