Laura Linney, best known for playing strong, yet fragile characters, is one of the most acclaimed American actors of the present. When she was a child, spending summers in the home of her father, she developed an interest in the theater. While at Brown University for a while and then later, she attended Juilliard School to study acting. Following her graduation from Brown University she began making her Broadway debut soon afterward. Within two years of this, her first feature film hit the market, and next year she made her television debut. Her appearances have been on a variety of television, film and stage programs since. Through her entire career, she's won several awards. Some of them includes two Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. Although she received many awards over the years, theater has always been her first interest.
